The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) serves as the metropolitan planning organization and the regional transportation planning agency to the nine counties surrounding the San Francisco Bay Area. Located in Oakland, the MTC oversees the region’s transportation system by administering and monitoring transit budget and operations, and establishing programs and agreements with local agencies. The Commission is seeking an experienced and hands-on legal professional with significant career focus in transportation related issues to provide guidance and advice to this multi-faceted and high-performing agency. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of contract law, be astute at dealing with local government agencies, and also well-versed in risk avoidance. This position requires current status in the California State Bar, or ability to reinstate at time of hire. The salary range is $195,000 to $230,000.
