The Virginia Department of Transportation Hampton Roads District located in Suffolk, Virginia is seeking an experienced professional to fill a project management position responsible for major construction projects within the regional area.  The successful candidate will manage the Downtown Tunnel/Midtown Tunnel/MLK Extension Project, a $1 billion dollar multi-faceted project in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.  A Professional Engineer’s License is required.  Demonstrated project management skills associated with experience on a variety of complex transportation projects essential.  Substantial skill in effectively managing multiple, high value contracts within the transportation industry, is required.  Knowledge of and demonstrated ability, to include but not limited to, administrative; managerial; supervisory principles/practices; human resources principles/practices; and interpreting and applying Federal/State highway policy/procedures, laws, rules, regulations and guidelines (Code of Virginia) required.

Preferred Qualifications:  Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration or Public Administration.
